Foundation Programme (pre-degree) Mathematics

Qualifications Required/Desired:
 

 

  • Teaching qualification (PGCE/PGDE/or equivalent). Postgraduate qualification (Masters preferable)
  • A minimum of 3 years Mathematics teaching experience at Grades 10 – 12/GCSE/A-Level/tertiary
  • Experience of, or willingness to, teach in a student centred learning environment e.g. task based/project based/problem based learning
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage the teaching and learning situations in assigned programmes and courses
  • Design and produce teaching materials and participate in on-going curriculum development in collaboration with team members
  • Adapt and develop resources appropriate to the programmes
  • Experience in the use of technology in teaching and learning of Mathematics
  • Set and mark student assignments, test papers, and internal examination papers
  • Develop theoretical and practical learning situations appropriate to curriculum documentation
  • Undertake learning support, mentoring and coaching of students
  • An understanding of student-centred pedagogical principles
Language:

The ability to communicate and explain key concepts in English
